Chicks News - 12th December 2025
This week was full of magical Christmas activities. In the 'Elf Workshop' the children wrapped the presents and practiced their cutting skills with the children scissors. The highlight of the week however was definitely the Christmas Concert which was a huge success after the children practicing so hard. The parents and the teachers are so proud of all the Chicks. This week, the children enjoyed a rich variety of learning experiences both indoors and outdoors. They developed their communication and language skills through story building, retelling familiar tales and acting out the Nativity using props and characters. Fledglings News - 14th November 2025
The Fledglings have enjoyed a busy week exploring the Topic Story ‘ Petal and Nettle and the Best Birthday Ever ’. We throughly enjoyed this story and the children were able to see what went wrong. They loved pointing out what Petal had done wrong and offered suggestions for what she should have done instead. Fledglings News - 7th November 2025
The Fledglings had a great week back after half term. Our Topic Story was ‘Little Red’ a retelling of a traditional tale and the children loved exploring different elements of constructing, retelling and acting out the story. This week at 345 the Chicks have been looking at shape. Our Topic Story, ‘We Love Each Other’ by Yusuke Yonezu used two of an animal to make a shape, for example, two birds together created a heart. This week we have enjoyed learning about the celebration of Diwali. Our Topic Story Shubh Diwali explained some of the traditions and customs people who celebrate Diwali follow and why this celebration is important. Fledglings News - 24th October 2025
This week we have loved looking at journeys and counting as we have explored our Topic Story ‘ The Hundred Decker Bus ’. This story follows a bus as it veers off its usual route and collects passengers and decks as it travels around the world. This week the children showed great interest in our Topic Story ' Wheels ' by Sally Suttton . We used the theme of vehicles to inform our activities during the week and everyone enjoyed creating vehicles out of egg boxes. We had diggers, tractors and event racing cars! Fledglings News - 17th October 2025
Our week began by welcoming our Grandparents in for part of the morning. We enjoyed showing them around the classroom and enjoyed taking part in activities together. We drew pictures of each other, had a tea party and kept our fingers busy and supple as we manipulated the play dough and enjoyed the climbing apparatus in the Outdoor Learning Environment. This week we celebrated World Porridge Day and so we chose the Topic Story ‘The Magic Porridge Pot’ retold by Alan MacDonald to introduce the celebration. The children enjoyed listening to the story during our Outdoor Learning Walk where we used our safe zone to sit beautifully together.
